Everton must thrash out deal for Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech after transfer admission made
Everton were reportedly interested in signing Chelsea attacker Hakim Ziyech in the summer, and they should make a move for him in January after the players commented on his future plans.
The Morocco international has made only five appearances for Chelsea in the Premier League this season, and he is facing an uncertain future at the club.
The 29-year-old winger has said, as relayed by Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, that he is unsure what the future holds for him in January.
90 Min reported on 11 October that Ziyech could be offloaded either on loan or on a permanent basis, and this latest comment should excite Kevin Thelwell and Frank Lampard, as the pair will be working closely to add depth to the squad.
The Toffees were linked with a host of players from Chelsea in the summer, including Ziyech.
This is probably the best opportunity for the Toffees to lure him to Goodison Park in January, as Ziyech will be keen to play regularly and get his career back on track.
Ziyech is a class player who has scored 110 goals in his club career. He was a hero at Ajax where he scored 49 goals in 165 games in all competitions, and has managed 14 goals for Chelsea as well.
Usually, he likes to play on the right flank, but he is capable of playing across all three attacking positions upfront.
The Toffees badly need goals from midfield. They are lacking the creative spark, and Ziyech could provide that. He has plenty of football left in him and would represent a smart signing for the club.
His latest comments suggest that the player could be open to leaving in January. Lampard must use his contacts at his old club, and urge Thelwell to get this signing done when the window opens.
