Everton could be ready to accept bid for Abdoulaye Doucoure in January
Everton could be ready to accept a bid for midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure in January, according to freelance journalist Paul Brown.
The midfielder has fallen down the pecking order at Goodison Park and now looks set for an exit after failing to win over Frank Lampard.
Brown, who’s written for the Daily Star, confessed that the club would be willing to accept an offer for Doucoure in the January transfer window and his current injuries aren’t a “huge” issue.

“I actually wonder about the futures of both Yerry Mina and Doucoure,” said Brown as quoted by GIVEMESPORT.
“Because of their contract situation I think Everton will be willing to accept a bid for either, so I don’t think injuries to those two are a huge issue, really, for the club.”

Time to sell.
Unfortunately, the time has come to sell Doucoure, he’s no longer capable of playing a role in Lampard’s rebuilt Everton squad.
Injuries haven’t helped the midfielder’s case here but he isn’t getting any younger either and at 29 years old is past his peak.
Amadou Onana and Idrissa Gueye entered the Toffees fray this summer and have ultimately budged Doucoure out of contention.
The pairing alongside Alex Iwobi has formed a formidable midfield three for the Blues and it doesn’t look like the Frenchman is in with a shout of changing this.
Another summer signing, James Garner, is now also the preferred alternative to these three too.
Hopefully, Everton will be able to recoup some much-needed money for Doucoure but it’s unlikely his name will warrant any big bids coming in.
So unless the rangy midfielder makes a massive miracle upturn in his performances after the FIFA World Cup break it looks like the curtains will be shut for him at Goodison.
