Everton set to trial ticket experiment on fans with new stadium in mind

Everton are set to trial a new digital ticketing system for away fans this season in order to prepare and plan for the new stadium.

After meetings with the Premier League about stadium entry and matchday experience, Everton are set to trial a new ticketing system for away fans that provides a fully digital ticket.

Toffees fans may first experience the change during the club’s New Year’s Eve fixture against Manchester City. The trial is limited to tickets sold in Block 214 only and Season Ticket Members, with the club making sure anyone participating in the trial volunteered to do so.

As reported by the Liverpool Echo, “such developments are also being taken with their upcoming move to their new stadium in mind.”

The new venue situated at the Bramley Moore Dock isn’t expected to be complete until 2024/25, but Everton are trialling their ticketing system ahead of the build completion.

Evolution

Goodison Park remains one of the most historic grounds in the country, and Evertonians will always have a huge amount of pride in that.

The new stadium is exciting for a number of reasons, but it’ll be equally as sad to wave goodbye to a gargantuan part of the club’s history.

However, after seeing the development of other Premier League clubs that have moved into a new stadium, most Everton fans knew that a new stadium was needed for the club to carry on evolving.

The entire matchday experience will be different for fans at the new ground, and the ticketing system is a huge part of that. Making matchdays as easy, simple and concise as possible is essential so that supporters can focus on the match itself.

Hopefully the new stadium marks a new era for Everton as a football club and propels the team to success. The completion of the build will be a huge boost to everyone at the club and it can hopefully provide an abundance of positivity and optimism not only for fans but for the community around the ground.
