Finance Expert: Everton will be desperate to finish new stadium after EUROs news

We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Everton...

Dan Plumley has insisted that Everton and Farhad Moshiri will now be desperate to finish the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium after recent developments.

It comes after the stadium has been included in the United Kingdom’s bid to host EURO 2028 despite not yet being near completion for the Toffees.

The Finance Expert admitted that hosting these events at the new stadium will help with the repayments that are inevitably coming the way of the club.

“It shows the potential of the stadium,” he exclusively told Goodison News.

“The club will be desperate to get it up and running as soon as possible, we know it has had challenges. This is where it comes full circle and you’ve got what will be one of the newest, shiniest stadiums in English football and the bigger events and other added extras are a bonus.

“It helps with repaying the cost of the stadium first and foremost, then it will firmly put it in the public spotlight as a new stadium in the major sporting event hosting circuit so the fact it is already being considered, the club will see it as a real positive, but then again, it’s just another added incentive to get it done.”

Moshiri will no doubt be delighted with the news.

It only backs up Everton and their choice to make the move with the latest new development in the Premier League, as they make that move away from the historic Goodison Park.

With more investment needed to keep the build going, Moshiri has not stopped looking for that added boost at Everton, something which may also lead to a takeover – the possibilities are endless right now.
