January now key for Frank Lampard as journo shares what he was told about Everton sack
Everton want to stick with Frank Lampard as manager for as long as they can, but January results will play a big part on if they can do that or not.
Lampard has been in the job for less than a year and saved the Toffees from relegation last season, and after an initially good start this season finds the team just one point above the drop zone and out of the Carabao Cup already.
That has led to speculation that the club could look to bring someone else in to help turn their fortunes around like they did at the start of the year, but journalist Dean Jones told GiveMeSport (28 November) that he is safe for now.

“For now I’m told that Everton want to stick with Frank Lampard and they’re going to try and persist with him for as long as they can,” he said.
“I guess early January results will tell us how long that’s going to be feasible and whether they can see out the whole season with him, and what the actual hopes can be for Lampard as manager.“
Faith
While the league positions for Everton aren’t much different a year apart, the big problems at the club have changed massively and that’s down to Lampard.
Defensively the team have looked far better for long stretches, and he has brought in a host of new players that have improved the squad, and the hope is that he can do so again in January.
Goals are the biggest problem now and hopefully he will be given funds and backing to boost the squad in the new year, but he deserves the chance to push forward and get the club higher up the table.
If results take a downward turn again once the season resumes then it would be fair for the club to look elsewhere to ensure our safety, because that has to be the priority over anything else, but Lampard has united the club.
Fans are happy for the most part and there is a team spirit that hasn’t been present for a while, so hopefully this one turns out well for all involved.
