Everton outcast Dele Alli to receive ‘psychological support’ in Besiktas loan

Dele Alli is going to receive “psychological support” at Besiktas as his loan from Everton fails to live up to expectations, according to Sabah.

The 26-year-old was shipped out to the Turkish Super League giants having failed to impress Frank Lampard at the start of the 2022-23 season at Goodison Park.

But he has been equally poor at Vodafone Park, though, and the Black and Whites are keen to try and give him every bit of help they can to try and unlock his best form.

Everton

Alli has been identified by Besiktas as one of two players who are in need of the most “mental support” with him and teammate Valentin Rosier on course for extensive sessions with sports science expert Professor Doctor Turgay Biçer.

The Turkish side have options to sign Alli from Everton in January on a cheaper deal or in the summer for more money but they could opt to not activate either clause.

End of the road

He may well have a chance to resurrect his career in Turkey in the second half of the season but his chance to shine at Goodison Park has surely come and gone now.

The once next great thing of English football is now really hanging by a thread in keeping his place in the Premier League and Frank Lampard will not be in any hurry to bring him back into the fold on Merseyside.

Everton

Everton may be without a proper number 10 to give them that attacking impetus but Lampard has moved away from that system anyway so Alli would not fit in anywhere without a big rejig of the formation.

Anthony Gordon can do that role anyway if required so there really is no place left for Alli.

Everton have to hope that Besiktas do choose to pay either of their optional fees and take him off their hands to relieve them of a potentially major problem at Finch Farm.
