Everton loanee Dele Alli has been told by Beskitas’ technical director Senol Gunes that he has now hit rock bottom and the only way is up.

The England international struggled since his move to Goodison Park and does not look like he’s doing particularly well on his loan spell in Turkey either.

He’s scored just once in seven league games and comments like this are certainly not going to do any wonders to his confidence.

Kartal Bakisi quoted the Beskitas chief saying, “Alli can debut while he has hit rock bottom in his own football career. ‘You take one step towards me, I’ll take three steps towards you,’ I told him.

“If Gomez had not thought of working with that passion and desire when he first came, he would not have been able to get out and go to the national team. Dele Alli is much younger. I think he will improve a lot with work.”

While his intentions are to improve the player’s focus, they may not sit too well with him as Alli has been known to be a mercurial talent.

Few doubt his footballing ability, but he does seem to pay more attention to off-the-field jibber jabber and that’s only led to his downfall.

He could’ve gone to Turkey and played with the confidence away from the media scrutiny, but he’s not helped himself by getting everyone to talk about his decline again.

At a certain point, it’s down to the player to take matters into his own hands and it seems like the Everton January signing is failing to do that despite being handed so many chances.

He’s even been told by Stan Collymore to do something else for a living and that’s not something you want to hear as a professional.
