Farhad Moshiri given open door to hire Frank Lampard successor at Everton as Roberto Martinez makes statement
Frank Lampard’s position as Everton manager is not at all safe right now with the Toffees precariously placed in 17th in the Premier League.
Just one point separates them and a spot in the bottom three after the Blues went through a series of poor results just before the international break for the World Cup.
Farhad Moshiri has not yet made any movement to sack Lampard having hired him to keep Everton in the top flight last season but further disappointing results can surely only mean one thing after the restart.
One manager the Toffees could be tempted to hire, according to Eurosport journalist Dean Jones, is Roberto Martinez who left Goodison Park in 2016 to become manager of Belgium.
The Red Devils were much fancied in the World Cup in Qatar but just one win against Canada and a defeat to Morocco saw them dumped out in the group stages.
As a result, Martinez has tendered his resignation as Belgium manager as he announced after they drew 0-0 with Croatia to confirm their early exit from the tournament, as relayed by Fabrizio Romano.
If Moshiri did have hopes of bringing the Spaniard back to Finch Farm then he has just been handed the perfect chance to do so on a silver platter.

Now that he has resigned from his role with Belgium, there is no longer any need to pay compensation to the Belgian FA who have no more connection to the individual.
Lampard can’t afford to worry about that now, though, but he will be acutely aware that there are managers waiting in the wings should he fail to perform when the season restarts.
The trigger could be pulled quickly to potentially allow the new man, whoever it may be, to make some January signings to bolster the playing squad.
