Sky Sports pundit tips Everton to get rid of Yerry Mina, Tom Davies or Abdoulaye Doucoure in January
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has tipped players with six months left on their Everton contracts to be moved on during the January transfer window.
Frank Lampard’s side saw a significant downturn in form heading into the World Cup break, heightening the need for the manager to improve his squad in the winter in order to avoid another relegation battle, and players whom he inherited could be the first out the door.
Sky Sports pundit Campbell believes the likes of Yerry Mina, Tom Davies and Abdoulaye Doucoure, are prime targets to leave, with their contracts all expiring and their involvement in the Everton first team infrequent.

He exclusively told Goodison News: “Yeah I think the players who have six months left on their contract, there might be some business to be done there.
“And some of the players are obviously not Frank Lampard’s players, he’s inherited them.
“So I think there has to be some changes made so he can get who he wants in, that’s really important for Frank.
“Especially in the second half of the season, so it wouldn’t surprise me if some of those players with six months to go are no longer at Everton.”

The club’s financial situation is far from cleared yet so shifting wages of the books and receiving whatever is going for players who aren’t favoured by the manager would be a bonus, with outgoings expected to be a big part of the window.
Lampard has a settled centre-back pairing and various back-up options, and has gone for the same three in midfield nearly all season, so the trio of expiring contracts don’t look likely to receive costly extensions despite a total of 336 Everton appearances between them.
If the manager sees players that he prefers he is likely to be happy to see a few that were around the club when he arrived move on to make space.
