Sky Sports pundit: Frank Lampard could outlast Farhad Moshiri at Everton
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Frank Lampard is a manager who gets Everton so potential candidates to replace him are “not realistic”, according to Kevin Campbell.
The current Toffees boss came into the World Cup break under some pressure after a bad run of results saw travelling fans revolt at Bournemouth (12 November), with Belgium’s now-former boss Roberto Martinez linked with a return to Goodison.
But Sky Sports pundit Campbell has no interest in another change in the dugout, given where that option has got the club in recent seasons, and wants Farhad Moshiri to continue with the faith he has so far shown in Lampard even if the owner is getting ready to sell the club.

He exclusively told Goodison News: “Frank Lampard proved he can get the job done in difficult circumstances last season.
“He’s not really been backed fully, so he’s got to shape the squad how he wants it.
“That’s the next priority really.
“Again, hiring and firing, everybody’s got an opinion and a manager who they think should take over.
“But a lot of them aren’t realistic because there’s a current manager in who gets the club, who’s never had a chance to shape it.
“So I think Moshiri’s right [to stick with Lampard], whether he’s going to be owner moving forward or not, that’s not the point.
“The point is having a manager with some continuity in the football club, that’s really important.”

Another defeat against Wolves on Boxing Day has been tipped to put the club’s new strategic review, aimed at reversing the hiring and firing culture, under real pressure in terms of Lampard’s job.
But his involvement in planning for the January transfer window, suggests that speculation from the outside may be falling on deaf ears for once, amid signs of a willingness to stick with the current man.
Continuity at manager is just the start though and he has to get results, whether that means work in the transfer market or on the training ground.
