Everton must place risky bet on Werder Bremen forward Niclas Fullkrug
Everton must take a risk on Werder Bremen and German World Cup star Niclas Fullkrug after the club were linked with a move for the forward on 6 December.
The German’s story is poetic and his dramatic rise in the Bundesliga would be welcomed by the Toffees with open arms on Merseyside.
Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers confessed that the German making a transfer to the Blues is “one to watch” speaking on the All Together Podcast on 6 December.

“He came on, scored a couple of goals for Germany in one of the games and looks really lively,” said Myers
“And I know there’s definitely a lot of interest in the Premier League for him. Whether it comes or not, I don’t know.
“I’d watch that one.”
Adding fuel to the fire of the exciting German’s stockpile, former Hanover 96 Sporting Director Gerhard Zuber has described Fullkrug as “one of the best” finishers in Europe.

Hit the ground running.
Having impressed at the FIFA World Cup, Fullkrug proved he can mix it with the best in the world and this kind of unsuspecting confidence would bode well in the Premier League.
At 29 years old it could be argued that Fullkrug is past his sell-by date, but the German’s career seems to be going from strength to strength the older he gets.
And who is to say that older footballers can’t play to the peak of their powers at an older age anyway? Karim Benzema is a testament to this theory, winning the Ballon d’Or at 34 years old.
16 goal contributions in 19 appearances for Werder Bremen this season prove he is an all-rounder for his team and the Blues could profit from this kind of talent spearheading their attack.
In the short term, with younger talents seemingly out of the Blues’ grasp, Fullkrug could come in and hit the ground running for Frank Lampard.
That’s not to mention his cheap price tag, Transfermarkt rate the forward’s value at a cool €5.00m (£4.3m), something that will alert the tight-pursed stringed Toffees ownership.
It looks like the Blues won’t be alone in making a move for the German if Myers comments are anything to go by either, so they must act quickly to secure his signature.
This one feels like a risk worth taking.
