Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite available for £4.2m as Roma eye January move
Serie A giants AS Roma are closely following Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite as Jose Mourinho is keen to sign him in January, as reported by Forza Roma.
The report shares that Branthwaite is just what Mourinho needs as Roma are looking to bolster their defensive options in January, with Rick Karsdorp all set to leave the club.
Branthwaite, 20, is currently on loan at PSV Eindhoven, but he has managed only four starts for them.

Forza Roma adds that the young defender will be available for £4.2m in January, and he is within Roma’s budget.
Total chaos
The situation is getting chaotic at the moment with Branthwaite, and it’s unclear what’s going on with the youngster.
The Daily Mail reported via their print edition on Thursday (8 December, page 73) that PSV are set to terminate the youngster’s loan deal.
He has indeed struggled for regular game time, and the Dutch club feel that he should be allowed to return to his parent club.

However, contrasting reports have emerged in Holland, as AD Sportwereld journalist Rik Elfrink reported [8 December] that PSV are actually in talks over extending the player’s stay beyond January.
The defender personally wants to stay at the Dutch club which is an “important support” for PSV.
However, the media in Italy believe Roma have a great chance of signing the youngster, and that too on a permanent deal.
Frank Lampard does have a wealth of options at the back, but it looks highly unlikely that he will sell Branthwaite permanently without giving him proper chance to shine at Goodison Park.
