Good stuff.

Mills and Cannon have both earned the chance to be part of the first team picture and it’s better for their development to do so.

Sending youngsters out on loan doesn’t always seem to pay off and the chance to be coached and mentored by Lampard is a far better outcome for both the forward and midfielder.

Cannon recently made his senior debut in the EFL Cup clash against Bournemouth where he came on as a substitute in the final ten minutes.

Four days later he earned himself a Premier League debut (12 November), further cementing Lampard’s obvious trust in the youngster.

And it’s these kinds of decisions that have obviously swayed the former Chelsea boss into keeping the likes of Cannon and Mills involved with the first team.

Lampard will always give chances to youngsters within his team, he’s shown this time and time again in his short managerial career.

Ultimately, this shouldn’t change the fact that the Blues need to make moves for a forward and potentially an attacking midfielder in January and now it seems it definitely won’t.
