Negotiations ongoing as Alex Iwobi will soon sign new Everton contract – Fabrizio Romano
Alex Iwobi will soon sign a new deal at Everton, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
The Guardian journalist has shared on Twitter this morning (Saturday, 10 December) that talks are at an advanced stage at the moment over signing a new contract.
The 26-year-old will commit his long-term future to the Toffees, and negotiations are said to be progressing smoothly towards the confirmation.

“Alex Iwobi will soon sign new deal with Everton. Talks are well advanced, it’s gonna be new long term deal. Negotiations are progressing to final stages,” wrote Romano on Twitter.
Deserved
If anyone deserves a new contract at the club at this moment, it is Iwobi.
He has been absolutely fantastic for the club this season, and he is one of the success stories under Frank Lampard this season.
At point in time, it looked like Iwobi has got no future at the club. He was terrible on the wings, and was even booed by the fans.
Lampard transformed him completely. He was first used as full-backs where he did well, and later he was shifted in the middle of the park.

In central midfield, Iwobi has become a monster of a player for the Toffees. He brings energy in the middle and can score goals as well.
Alongside the likes of Amadou Onana and Idrissa Gueye, Iwobi has excelled, where he is given more freedom to exert his influence.
That being said, the Toffees should still look to sign a new midfielder in the January window, with Tom Davies and Abdoulaye Doucoure both approaching the end of their contracts.
