Roy Keane calls out Everton goalkeeper in England v France World Cup clash
Roy Keane was not impressed by the positioning of Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford for the first goal for France against England.
Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni scored a long-range effort in the first half as France ended up winning 2-1 on 10 December.
Pickford, before this game, had just conceded one goal from open play all tournament but saw two scored against him on Saturday.

Keane told ITV, as quoted by the Daily Star, “Rice going to ground, you’ve got two or three midfielders in there. Brilliant strike, ‘keeper? Can he do better? Yeah I think so but they’ve got to get out quicker, more aggressively.
“When the balls put back into the middle of the park you’ve got to get straight out there. England should be really disappointed.”
Unjust
Keane cannot be calling out Pickford for this one as there was not much the Everton keeper could’ve done for that one.
Tchouameni’s strike was so well hit that no keeper in the world would’ve been able to stop that one.
The midfielders did not close him down quickly enough and it was so well placed in the bottom corner.
Pickford did react quickly and even moved at the right time and did everything he could to keep the ball out the net.
We feel Keane is being unjust for no good reason and it’s easier to be critical about something if you just have to because there wasn’t too much wrong the players did for that goal.
We would’ve liked Pickford to go on to win it for England as he had been so good thus far but we’re delighted by his performances for the Three Lions over the last three major tournaments.
