Dominic Calvert-Lewin posts four-word message on Twitter ahead of Everton clash v Wolves
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has given Everton a boost by posting that he is “back in the gym” ahead of their Boxing Day clash with Wolves.
The Toffees striker only made his first appearance of the season in October and didn’t start for the first time until two weeks later. He started four games in a row, scoring once, before picking up another injury and hasn’t featured since November 5th.
Calvert-Lewin wasn’t available on the tour of Australia during the World Cup break and was deemed to be “touch and go” the Wolves clash, but his latest tweet suggests he could be ready.
Alongside an image of himself, Calvert-Lewin posted on his own personal account (12 December) that he was “back in the gym”, while also tagging Everton’s account.
Everton have lost six of their last eight games in all competitions, including their last three in a row and sit one point above the relegation zone having scored just 11 goals in 15 games so far in the Premier League.
Boost
However you feel about the player and his injury issues, there is no denying that Calvert-Lewin being fit is a boost to Everton’s chances of winning football games.
He is a huge threat to the opposition defence and when we’re set to come up against the team currently bottom of the league, there is a huge opportunity to score goals and put points on the board.

His return and inclusion will be a huge boost to the plans of Frank Lampard, who put him back in the lineup fairly quickly after his return despite signing Neal Maupay in the summer.
The French striker’s move so far hasn’t worked out too well, scoring just once in a blue shirt and his overall play has been a shadow of what many expected when he was signed from Brighton.
With a couple of weeks to go before the game too, hopefully he will be in top condition and ready to power us up the table with some goals.
