Everton defender Ben Godfrey reveals major injury update from Finch Farm
Everton defender Ben Godfrey has spoken out live at Finch Farm, providing fans with an update on his comeback from injury.
Godfrey has been out of action for Frank Lampard and the Blues since suffering a painstaking injury on the opening day of the season that saw him stretchered off the pitch.
However, the defender announced on Everton’s Twitter channel in a live video from Finch Farm that he is “ready to get going again” after his absence.
“I am ready now, ready to get going again,” said Godfrey on the Everton Twitter page.
Liverpool Echo Journalist Joe Thomas relayed the news stating “Ben Godfrey, out since being stretchered off in the first game of the season, back in full training.”

Lampard’s plan.
It’s going to be interesting to see what Lampard’s plan is for Godfrey, but his physicality and pace could be utilised in so many ways for the Blues.
Perhaps Godfrey could be used as part of a back three, lining up alongside Conor Coady and James Tarkowski? He possesses pacey attributes the tried and trusted duo doesn’t have.
An out-there shout would be to even try Godfrey in more of an attacking wing-back role for the Toffees, his direct style and love to bomb forward could actually be perfectly placed out wide on the pitch.
Whatever the case may be, Lampard can’t expect Coady and Tarkowski to play every single game for the Blues and Godfrey isn’t the worst backup to have in your squad for the veterans.
Hopefully, this lengthy spell on the sidelines has given Godfrey enough time to come back firing, he was absolutely class under Carlo Ancelotti and discovering this kind of form again would be welcomed.
