Injury update emerges on Everton defender Ben Godfrey ahead of Wolves Premier League clash
Ben Godfrey is reportedly in the “final stages” of his recovery as Everton look set to play against Wolves on Boxing Day after the World Cup break.
The English centre-back last played on the opening day of the season against Chelsea and has since been ruled out with a fractured fibula.
However, he is now in the last stage of his recovery as he’s even returned to training with the squad for the first time in months. [Liverpool Echo on 16 December]

Great news
Godfrey was used like a Swiss Army knife under Carlo Ancelotti and it was hard to pin him down to one position.
Signed as a centre-back, he played right-back, right wing-back and was also tried on the other side as a left-wing-back as well as a slightly advanced winger role for Everton.
However, since his injuries, he’s not been the same player and we’re hoping that he’s used this time off to recover completely and hopefully, it’s not affected him mentally.
Players tend to sulk when they’re out for months at a stretch but from the footage we’ve seen, the Englishman looks ready to go.
Recently, he’s played many games for the Under-21s, including their Papa John’s Trophy win over Mansfield Town at Goodison Park in November.
It’s understood that Yerry Mina is also back to training with Godfrey and it remains to be seen if either will be available for the game against Wolves.
