Everton sensation Matthew Malon makes major transfer u-turn as he trains with senior team
Everton youngster Matthew Malon was reportedly spotted with the first team in their training sessions over the past week.
According to the Liverpool Echo [16 December], the young right-back was given a chance to impress Frank Lampard after signing a new contract in the summer.
It was understood that he had already left Goodison Park and was set to join Blackburn Rovers, but he made a u-turn on his decision and decided to stay at Everton.

Time to prove his worth
If the Toffees convinced him not leave for Blackburn, they surely would have guaranteed him something that tempted him to stay.
Whether it was a decent wage package or a quicker route to the first team remains to be seen, but he’s now being handed his first chance to prove his worth.
He’s been at the club since he was four so it’s pretty evident that he loves the club and it’s hard to leave familiar surroundings you’ve known for your entire life.
Frank Lampard is someone who many of the young players would’ve grown up watching so he would command their respect.
There are people like Leighton Baines and Ashley Cole who will also be idolised by many players and this could be ideal for many of the budding talents at Goodison Park as they look to make that jump to first-team football.
We’re hoping to see many more debutants in the coming months and this will also put the senior players on edge as they’ll be aware of the competition for places increasing.
