Everton set for major transfer talks in days with forward named – Fabrizio Romano

Everton are set for major new transfer talks in the coming days and will explore the market for new forwards after Soloman Rondon’s contract was terminated, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer guru went on to claim that Everton are among four clubs interested in Atletico Madrid forward Matheus Cunha.

Romano confessed that the Blues are now “exploring” the striker’s market after Rondon’s termination and are “interested” in Cunha.

“Everton are now exploring the strikers market after terminating S. Rondon’s contract,” said Romano on Twitter.

“Talks will take place in the next days and weeks, they were among 4 clubs interested in Cunha.”

Everton

Fantastic.

This is absolutely fantastic news for the Toffees and from an extremely credible source in Romano, it looks like the Blues are readying themselves for some January business.

And even better that it is in the exact problem area of the team, a new forward should have been signed in the summer following the departure of Richarlison but the Blues will settle for a blockbuster January transfer instead.

Cunha is an interesting proposition, although he’s hardly set alight La Liga since he made the move to Atletico Madrid from Hertha Berlin.

The Everton hierarchy needs to be cautious of not getting completely roped into a deal with the Brazilian and should thoroughly explore other options on the market.

There are plenty of terrific poachers out there, but Everton needs a forward who can come in and hit the ground running for Lampard’s team.

Everton’s current precarious position in the Premier League is crying out for this, the last thing the club needs is another no-show striker.
