Fulham want to sign Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure in January transfer window

Fulham reportedly want to sign Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure in the January transfer window with Marco Silva eyeing a reunion.

According to Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas, the London outfit are keen on bringing the 29-year-old to Goodison Park once the window opens.

Doucoure has found game time hard to come by under Frank Lampard and has not been handed a Premier League start since August.

Via Twitter, Thomas wrote, “Exclusive: #Fulhamfc are interested in a January move for #Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure. Twice worked under Marco Silva already and without a Premier League start since August.”

Get rid

Doucoure has fallen down the pecking order massively and after the outlay on midfielders in the summer, it’s pretty clear that his future at Goodison Park is not bright.

Lampard sanctioned moves for Amadou Onana, James Garner and Idrissa Gana Gueye and all three are perhaps ahead of him in the hierarchy.

Even Alex Iwobi’s resurgence has now made him an undroppable player in midfield and that’s certainly not helped Doucoure’s cause.

Fulham’s interest in him makes sense as he’s worked at two different clubs with Silva who’s managed to get the best out of him.

They also have a billionaire owner in Shahid Khan so Everton can demand a decent fee in exchange of his services in January.

An exit did seem like the only option for the Mali international and it seems like this move will suit all parties so we will be really surprised if it does not happen.
