Everton and Spurs want transfer for Ajax player Charlie Setford in January news
Everton and Tottenham want to sign English Ajax goalkeeper Charlie Setford, who is free to negotiate contracts with teams in January, according to Mail Sport.
Ajax and England U18 goalkeeper Setford was part of Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag’s first-team squad last season before suffering a fractured hand.
Mail Sport confessed that Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham, Southampton and AS Roma are all looking for a transfer for Setford alongside the Toffees.

“Several European giants including Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund are eyeing Ajax and England U18 goalkeeper Charlie Setford, Sportsmail understands,” as quoted by Mail Sport.
“The 18-year-old, who was part of Erik Ten Hag’s first-team squad last year before suffering a fractured hand, has six months left on his current deal with the Dutch side.
“That means Setford is free to speak to other clubs from January and Everton, Roma and Southampton are also among those interested.”

Talent of the future.
Setford can definitely be labelled in the bright future bracket of young footballers and would be a real coup for the Blues should they pull off a deal.
The half-English, half-Dutch goalkeeper grew up in Holland and has been part of the illustrious talent factory at Ajax since the age of 7.
Setford was given the club’s ‘Talent of the Future’ award for 2021/22 so it is bizarre that the Dutch club may be willing to let him leave the team.
Nevertheless, the Toffees may see Setford as the long-term successor to Jordan Pickford, who has been linked with a move away from Merseyside this summer.
The transfer pulling power of Dortmund and Spurs may be tough to combat in this one though, with both clubs offering more glitzy and attractive packages to the teenager.
Whatever the case may be, this transfer story will likely become prominent as the January window progresses, expect to hear a lot more about this one over the next month.
