Frank Lampard shares Everton news on Dominic Calvert-Lewin before Wolves clash

Frank Lampard has shared some interesting developments on Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin ahead of the Wolves clash on 26 December.

Calvert-Lewin sustained yet another injury in the Blues’ game against Leicester on 5 November and seems to be getting absolutely no luck recently.

Lampard confessed that the Everton forward is “recovering well” and is hopeful that his knee injury has now cleared up ahead of the Premier League’s return.

“Dominic is recovering well,” said Lampard in an interview relayed by the club’s Twitter.

“We are hopeful his knee injury has cleared up and now we have to make sure we get him match fit and ready so we will see how that one goes.”

Running out.

Time is running out for Calvert-Lewin to prove he can be Everton’s go-to man for goals under Lampard as the January transfer window approaches.

The club have been vocal in their efforts of trying to secure new forwards at the club and this could mean the end of Calvert-Lewin’s time at Goodison Park.

At times, the Englishman has been great but injuries have unfortunately plagued him far too often and it’s unlikely that he can be relied on for a full Premier League campaign ever again.

This makes securing some forward reinforcements in the Winter market even more crucial, the Toffees can ill-afford another poor transfer window.

Lampard will surely have some prime targets lined up, it’s more just convincing them that Merseyside is the right place for their career over other options more than anything.

The next few months will be extremely telling in how the Blues season may pan out, however, signing a few new forwards would help Premier League survival matter a hell of a lot easier.
