New Everton stadium timelapse emerges as drone footage pieced together by YouTuber

New footage has been released showing the development of the new Everton Stadium on Bramley Moore Dock from July 2021 through to December 2022.

The Toffees have been at Goodison Park since 1892, and the club are looking to move into their new home at the beginning of the 2024/25 season.

The latest footage released by Mister Drone (YouTube channel, 21 December) has provided a time-lapse of the build from when construction first started in July 2021.

Everton’s new home is now starting to really take shape, with the second roof truss being fitted at the start of December (Mister Drone UK, 1 December).

Stunning

When the stadium is completed it will be one of the most modern and visually pleasing grounds in the country. However, Goodison Park is a cornerstone of English football, and it’s important for the new stadium to retain some of the character from the Toffees’ current home.

There are a number of grounds in the Premier League which are completely soulless and struggle to muster any atmosphere due to the nature of how the stadium has been designed. Southampton and Leicester are the clubs which immediately spring to mind with both the King Power and St Mary’s really struggling to generate any sort of noise.

Everton

Let’s hope the design of the Everton stadium has characteristics of Tottenham’s new ground, with Spurs’ new home still retaining some of the White Hart Lane magic.

It will be a sad day when the move does happen, but there’s a general understanding amongst fans that moving to a bigger stadium in a city centre location will reap long-term benefits for the club.
