Everton have desire to back Frank Lampard and Kevin Thelwell in January transfer news

Everton are showing a real desire to back head coach Frank Lampard and director Kevin Thelwell which makes January interesting, according to Liverpool Echo journalist Joe Thomas.

The Blues are in desperate need of some January reinforcements to their squad and there is a hopeful vibe surrounding Goodison Park at the moment that deals will be completed.

Lampard was facing big pressure before the World Cup break with calls for him to be sacked, something which could fall on Thelwell too if transfers continue to fail.

“This next month will be interesting – win against Wolves would help,” said Thomas in response to a fan on Twitter.

“But club invested in Thelwell and Lampard so a real desire to stick with them and support them.”

Everton

Let’s go.

It’s nice to see the club backing Lampard and it’s needed if the team are to make any real progress from their current Premier League position.

This starts in January in the winter window, the Englishman needs to be backed and given funds he needs to sign some reinforcements in problem areas.

Obviously, a proven goalscorer must be on top of the January wish list, signing someone with these attributes will go a long way in improving the squad’s current league position.

Arguably the Blues also need another wide man in the squad, rumoured links to Watford winger Ismaïla Sarr are pleasing to hear and he’s the exact type of talent the Toffees need to recruit.

Evidently, Lampard has the hierarchy’s backing, for now at least, and his negotiation skills will be heavily needed in getting deals over the line for the Blues.

Fingers crossed Everton can get some much-needed deals over the line in 2023, their current Premier League campaign certainly depends on it.
