Everton may seal permanent transfer for Conor Coady in January – Sky Sports
Vinny O’Connor has reported that Everton manager Frank Lampard may want to make the loan deal of Conor Coady permanent in the January transfer window.
Coady, 29, moved to Goodison Park on a season-long loan in the summer after seven seasons at Wolverhampton Wanderers and was recently part of the England 26-man squad at the Qatar World Cup.
He has impressed in the heart of the Toffees’ defence this season alongside fellow summer recruit James Tarkowski, who have together helped the Toffees register four clean sheets.

Sky Sports News reporter O’Connor believes the Merseyside club want to extend the Englishman’s stay beyond the end of the season and could look to snap him up in the upcoming window.
He wrote: “Lampard is also looking to ensure Conor Coady remains at the club long-term with the possibility his loan move could become permanent in the January transfer window if not the summer.”

Strong presence
Coady has been an influential figure for Everton since his summer move, and it would be foolish not to snap him up on a permanent contract if the opportunity arises.
He is an experienced and level-headed defender who has added an essence of calm to proceedings at Goodison Park. At 29, the defender still has plenty of miles left in the tank, and he wouldn’t be an overly expensive signing, considering the initial loan deal.
It isn’t just on the pitch that Coady excels, but his leadership off it has been widely proclaimed for both club and country. Under Gareth Southgate, the Everton star was still selected for the Qatar World Cup, despite realistically knowing he wouldn’t be picked, due to his presence in the camp and his presence within the squad.
If Lampard can get this deal done without any fuss, it really is a no-brainer in the January window.
