Everton carry out extensive World Cup work as January transfer news emerges

Everton have been carrying out extensive World Cup groundwork on transfer deals with loan moves on the cards, according to Inews.

The Blues certainly need to bolster their options in January and it looks as if the club are looking at doing just that to improve Frank Lampard’s fortunes.

Inews confessed that loan deals could “heavily feature” once again in the January transfer window and movement is expected from Everton.

“Movement, instead, is expected in the middle of the Premier League. Loan deals could feature heavily once again,” as quoted by Inews.

“Clubs mentioned as having carried out extensive groundwork during the World Cup break include Southampton, Wolves, Everton and Bournemouth. Brentford, too, could act although are waiting to ascertain the timescale of Ivan Toney’s FA charge and whether it will require a short-term fix before the end of the season.”

Loans?

It’s hardly surprising that Everton may be targeting loan deals, but it again highlight’s the club’s current messy financial situation.

It looks like the Blues are in a sell-to-buy position if the recent outgoing of Solomon Rondon is anything to go by which makes rumours of loans likely true.

The Toffees have got themselves in a hell of a pickle in recent seasons and poor transfer dealings are largely to blame because of this.

With luck, Lampard and Kevin Thellwell will have some form of renewed plan to make the Blues’ days brighter, financially and in regards to transfers.

Signing a striker has to be the priority in January, whether this is a permanent deal or a loan, Lampard can ill-afford going through the rest of the season with an injury-prone Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

If Thelwell and Lampard sort this problem out, Everton’s season begins to look a lot brighter, goals are what’s needed in this Toffees side right now.
