Everton defender Mason Holgate could be set for permanent Goodison Park exit
Everton defender Mason Holgate could leave the club on loan or on a permanent basis in the January window, as reported by Liverpool World.
The 26-year-old defender has made only four appearances this season in the Premier League, and he is really struggling for regular game time under Frank Lampard.
The Toffees do not want to lose him, but a “deal could come” for the “versatile” defender.

“The versatile defender has been on the fringes of things. He may not be Lampard’s first-choice defender to offload, although a deal could come about if others were to stay,” wrote Liverpool World.
Unlikely
Lampard struggled to rotate his squad and Holgate has been really unfortunate to have not played regularly.
Conor Coady and James Tarkowski have been immense for the club, but Holgate is still a very option to be around.
Ben Godfrey is now set to return after a long injury lay-off, and Holgate is bound to drop down the pecking order at the club.
Having said that, Lampard should keep him until the end of the season at least.

The likes of Yerry Mina and Michael Keane are almost certain to leave the club, and in that case, Holgate should become the fourth-choice centre-back.
Now, if there are one or two major injuries, he can play his part. Lampard must find a way to give him some game time, as he can be a handy option.
In the summer, the club can afford to sell him, but losing him either on loan or permanently in January would be a big risk.
