£60m transfer clause mooted as Jordan Pickford could leave Everton for Champions League club
Everton could reportedly have a certain amount that they cannot turn down if a Champions League side comes in for Jordan Pickford.
According to Liverpool Echo journalist Tony Scott, this fee may even be £60million as he’s one of the most valuable assets at the club.
The 28-year-old’s current deal at Goodison Park expires in the summer of 2024 and he currently is in talks over a new deal.

Scott spoke on the All Together Now Everton podcast via This Is Futbol, “The Pickford one, for me, is going to be really fascinating to see if there are any clauses in it. We know what agents are like [in] this day and age and we know what players are like – they’re ambitious.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if a Champions League [club] comes in for Jordan Pickford there’ll be a set amount – maybe £60million or whatever it is – that if a Champions League club meet Everton’s valuation, then he will go.”
Worth that much
Losing Pickford will certainly be a blow for Everton but for that money they definitely would consider cashing in on his services.
Even the England number one knows where his stock currently is and after impressive performances for club and country in the past, he’s certainly going to be a man in demand.
Everton would want to retain him, but if they are to think about the future and building this side, they would be happy to rake in the funds generated from his sale.
The player himself could ask to leave if a big side comes in that can guarantee Champions League football and the chance to compete for trophies.
It remains to be seen if Chelsea or Spurs end up making an offer for him over the summer, because they’re two sides that could look for goalkeeping upgrades.
The Toffees may also consider his sale if the right price is offered and it’s not as much as the clause aforementioned, but good enough to cash in.
