Everton defender Nathan Patterson branded ‘Absolutely terrible’ in Premier League clash v Wolves
Football scout Ryan Williams was not impressed by Nathan Patterson’s performances in the Everton clash against Wolves on Boxing Day.
The Scotland international started the game at right-back and did not have the best of outings for the Toffees as they lost 2-1.
He picked up a yellow card and failed to complete any cross in the game as he had a contest worth forgetting at Goodison Park.
Williams did not mince his words as he took to Twitter to write, “Patterson has been absolutely terrible. Mind boggling, really. Hesitant all over the pitch. Bad decisions.”
Not the best of games
Seamus Coleman was the first choice right back before Patterson’s arrival but his performances have been waning due to his age.
The Scotsman has done well and has improved during the year he’s been at Goodison Park but his performance against Wolves was poor.
His decision making at times was amateurish and Frank Lampard surely will not be impressed by what he’s seen from the young right-back.
Patterson has proved in the past that he can play well at a high level, and he’s got to improve his performance if he wants to be a first-choice starter at the club.
We’re hoping to see an improved display from the 21-year-old against Manchester City on New Year’s Eve as that’s going to be one of the toughest games of the season for Everton.
