Everton transfer news emerges on permanent Conor Coady move
It is a case of when, not if Everton sign Conor Coady on a permanent transfer after an impressive start to life at Goodison Park, according to Joe Thomas.
Coady, 29, moved to Merseyside on loan in the summer after seven years at Wolverhampton Wanderers and was recently selected to represent England at the Qatar World Cup.
The Toffees defender has impressed manager Frank Lampard this season alongside fellow summer recruit James Tarkowski, and it would take a catastrophe to not make his loan deal permanent in the near future.

According to Liverpool Echo journalist Thomas, the terms of the centre-backs loan contract means there is no rush to complete the signing, and it is, therefore, hard to put a timeframe on when both parties will open talks.
He wrote: “Barring anything catastrophic it’s a case of when not if, Everton make the influential centre-back [Coady] a permanent signing but the terms of his loan deal mean there is no rush.”

Get it done
Coady has been a strong presence at the heart of Everton’s defence since his loan move from Wolves in the summer, and the club should look to sign him on a permanent transfer as soon as possible.
The 29-year-old still has plenty of miles left in the tank, and the transfer fee would be relatively modest, so it’s a win-win situation for the Toffees.
On the pitch, Coady has proven himself an experienced and capable character, forging a strong partnership with Tarkowski in the middle of Everton’s back-four. Without Coady, there is a serious drop-off in quality, with the likes of Michael Keane and Mason Holgate the next to be waiting in the wings.
Off the pitch, the loanee is equally important, with his leadership capabilities renowned for both club and country. Under Gareth Southgate, Coady has become a lynchpin for the Three Lions and was selected for his Qatar 26-man squad despite not featuring for a single minute during the tournament.
All eyes are on this one, starting in January.
