Frank Lampard sack now obvious at Everton after recent reality of results
Everton must face the music of recent results with a Frank Lampard sacking becoming more real by the day, according to Sports Witness journalist Sean Lunt.
The Blues suffered another damning defeat to Wolves on 26 December leaving them hanging just above the dreaded Premier League drop zone.
Lunt confessed the loss to Wolves off the back of two batterings by Bournemouth make a Lampard sack “obvious” and this is something Everton fans need to realise.
“You’ll have plenty saying the inevitable tonight and that Lampard calls are predictable but they’re just not facing the reality of it,” said Lunt on Twitter.
“Losing to bottom of the table Wolves after a six-week break following a double battering at Bournemouth makes a potential sacking obvious.”

Writing on the wall?
Is the writing now on the wall for Lampard? It’s hard to argue against anything other than the Englishman’s exit right now. Nevertheless, if the club are willing to back him in January, then they will need to stick by their man for considerably longer.
It’s pretty evident that Everton needs a winger who can break lines alongside an out-and-out goalscorer, with luck, both will be signed in January.
But results need to drastically improve over the next few weeks for the hierarchy to even consider backing Lampard any further.
Fans’ patience will only be growing thinner by the day and the more the Blues get themselves involved in a relegation scrap the worse the outcome for Lampard will be.
Another question is who would come in to replace Lampard should he leave? It’s horrible to think that Roberto Martinez could stroll through the Goodison Park door again, but that’s very much a possibility at the moment.
