Manchester United won’t let Anthony Elanga join Everton unless they sign a replacement first
Manchester United will not allow Everton to sign Anthony Elanga in January unless they sign a replacement first, according to the Daily Mail.
The Toffees are keen to add to their forward department during the winter window, having scored just 12 goals in 16 Premier League games so far this season and they currently sit just one point above the relegation zone.
Frank Lampard is said to be keen on bringing in Elanga to Everton on loan, but a report from the Mail (28 December) claims the Red Devils won’t sanction a move unless they can add to their own front line first.

“Everton are among a number of clubs keen to sign Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga on loan,” they wrote.
“However, United will not let the Sweden international depart without bringing forwards in and are limited to loans this window.”
Blow
Everton need to move quickly during the January transfer window to bring new players in that can help solve their goalscoring crisis, so this is a big problem.
With Manchester United restricted to loan deals too, and needing a top level player to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, they’re likely to be waiting a while to get business done.
Everton simply cannot afford to wait for United to do their business, because if they’re unable to it would have cost the club ample time to do their own business and we have huge issues right now.
Elanga is a decent option and if Lampard wants him at the club then the board should be willing to do whatever they can to get it done, but not if it could potentially harm us in the process.
Attentions must turn elsewhere for now to be sure that someone can be brought in, and if the opportunity to bring the Sweden international in later in the window presents itself the we can be ready to pounce.
