Everton hierarchy to make decision on Frank Lampard future at club

The Everton hierarchy are set to make a decision on Frank Lampard’s future at the club with sack talk surrounding the former Chelsea boss intensifying, according to Inews.

It’s no surprise that questions are being raised over Lampard’s leadership skills at the Toffees, Everton have looked extremely poor as of late.

Inews confessed that Everton are “holding firm” on Lampard for now, pointing out that practical, tangible changes made will bear fruit soon, with transfers being worked on for January.

“Everton are holding firm for now, with sources pointing out the practical, tangible changes made as a result of a root-and-branch review of football operations launched 12 months ago that they feel will bear fruit soon,” as quoted by Inews.

Will they? Won’t they? It feels like the next couple of Premier League fixtures are going to be extremely telling on whether the club stick with Lampard or not.

Everton

Not good enough.

Lampard has had the backing of Evertonians throughout this campaign and the last but coming out and saying the performance against Wolves was good is bizarre.

Losing to a side at the bottom of the Premier League is never a good scenario, especially when they are fighting to get out of it with the Blues sitting just above them.

It seems like the club are sleepwalking towards relegation right now and that was never more apparent than the dier ending to the Boxing Day clash against Wolves.

Of course, not everything wrong at the club is Lampard’s fault and he hasn’t been helped by mistakes of the past and being put on a financial shoestring budget.

But maybe just maybe, getting a manager into the club who is used to dealing with a smaller budget and still achieving Premier League results is the way to go, for now at least.

A man by the name of Sean Dyche springs to mind, would he really be that bad of an appointment? Blues need to readjust their ambitions if they think he is.
