Finance Expert: Investors could look for stake in Everton as major news emerges
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Everton...
All options are on the table as Everton look set to announce two new partnerships in the coming weeks, according to Dan Plumley.
The Finance Expert reacted after Denise Barret-Baxendale confirmed that deals regarding the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium were on the cards.
Plumley admitted that investors could look to confirm a stake in the club from Farhad Moshiri, although they could simply just stick to the stadium if they wanted.
“It’s one of those where both options are on the table,” he exclusively told Goodison News.
“If they are going to come in and invest in the stadium, they could look to leverage that and say, ‘we want a stake in the club as well’ or the two could be completely separate.

“It’s just one of those where you’re without the interpretation of what she has said, but I think, as it stands at the minute, both of those options are on the table. It will come down to what is right for the investors and the club, and if Everton thinks that the people who are going to invest in the stadium project are also worthy people to have as stakeholders in the club, it may be a possibility, but the two don’t need to be tied together.”
This would certainly be welcomed by the Everton faithful.
It hasn’t exactly been a smooth ride with Bill Kenwright and Moshiri in charge, and some fresh faces, investments and ideas in the boardroom could be exactly what is needed.
January is around the corner and investment is certainly needed in the squad, but if that happens, it could dry up other areas with it not looking great right now.
All eyes are on Goodison Park right now.
