Manchester United transfer news as Everton made to wait in Anthony Elanga loan push in January
Everton will be made to wait in their transfer pursuit of Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga, according to the Liverpool Echo.
Frank Lampard is actively looking to improve his forward options in January and is set on bringing back on-loan striker Ellis Simms from Sunderland.
The reports claim that any loan deal Everton makes for Elanga however will have to wait until Manchester United have secured a forward signing of their own.

“Lampard is actively considering doing that as he seeks to strengthen his forward line. While work is ongoing behind the scenes,” as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
“With Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga among what is said to be a detailed list of targets, no signings are currently thought to be imminent.
“A shortlist of targets was drawn up before the World Cup and they are exploring the loan market, with Elanga one target. He is thought to have several clubs hoping to bring him in on loan but United boss Erik ten Hag is looking to secure his own attacking improvements before sanctioning the 20-year-old’s temporary departure.”

Vital.
Signing a striker in January is vital for Everton and the club simply can’t wait around any longer to solve their issues in front of goal.
The fact the club are considering bringing loan talents back for reinforcements is slightly worrying though and evidently points towards financial constraints.
If this is the route Everton goes down, then their chances of Premier League survival have dropped just that bit further down the slippery slope.
Blackburn Rovers’ Ben Brereton Diaz, Coventry City’s Viktor Gyokeres and Elanga are all solid options to consider and are far more experienced than Sunderland loanee Simms.
Something needs to change soon and bringing in fresh new talents in the transfer window is the start of this happening.
Is it that much to ask for one forward in the new year? At most club it wouldn’t be but it seems to be the Everton way at the moment to do the completely wrong thing at the wrong time.
