Fabrizio Romano shares Everton transfer news as Frank Lampard in board talks for January
Fabrizio Romano shared some juicy Everton news on December 31 as the transfer guru reported that Frank Lampard is in board talks over possible January signings.
Romano also highlighted that there is now an agreement in place for Everton to bring back forward Ellis Simms to the club from his loan spell at Sunderland.
The Italian journalist confessed that Manchester United forward Anthony Elanga had also been discussed between Lampard and the Everton board.
“Everton are set to bring Ellis Simms back, agreement in place to recall him – he won’t be part of Sunderland’s squad at Blackpool,” said Romano on Twitter.
“Anthony Elanga discussed between Lampard and the board as option for January window.”

Elanga talk heating up.
Elanga joined Manchester United’s academy in 2018 and made his professional debut for the club in the Europa League in December 2020.
And it seems the forward is high on the list of potential Everton targets as he continues to get linked with Lampard’s side on the daily. He is known for his pace and technical ability and is regarded as a promising talent with a bright future ahead of him.
Whether or not he is the man to solve the Blues’ forward woes remains to be seen, but signing the forward is at least a step in the right direction.
It’s the biggest area for concern in the team right now and if the Toffees can get Dominic Calvert-Lewin back fit and firing they only really need one more striker.
That’s if you take into account Simms returning to the first team, however, it’s unclear yet how Lampard will utilise the young Englishman.
