Injury Expert shares Everton news as Michael Keane hampered on warm-up v Man City
Michael Keane is set to undergo scans in the near future after the Everton defender was withdrawn from the game against Manchester City.
The 29-year-old was replaced in the matchday squad by Isaac Price, having originally been named on the bench at The Etihad, after a problem with his knee flared up during the warm-up.
Frank Lampard, who opted to play three centre-halves against Pep Guardiola’s side and earned a vital point in the meantime, will now have to wait until the scans to find out Keane’s setback.
Everton went on to draw at the home of the reigning champions thanks to a stunning Demarai Gray goal which cancelled out a typical Erling Haaland opener in the first half.
“A problem with his knee. Initially felt during training on Friday,” Dinnery said via his personal Twitter account. “Will be sent for a scan to determine the extent of the problem.”
Backup
If any central defender is to get injured at Goodison Park, Keane is probably the one you want it to happen to with Yerry Mina, Ben Godfrey, Conor Coady and James Tarkowski all ahead of him in the hierarchy.
Of course, it would be ideal for no injuries to happen and Lampard would prefer to have his entire squad available but this is not the worst news he could have received today.

The boss will be far more concerned that Anthony Gordon was not involved due to injury as the youngster has been one of the most exciting players in blue for some time.
Luckily, Keane, or a replacement centre-half, was not needed by the Toffees against City and they were able to take a point away from the game which is one more than many imagined waking up in the morning.
Hopefully, the scans come back relatively clear and he can return to action very soon.
