Everton eye Nicolas Jackson January transfer as Villarreal braced for bids

Villarreal are reportedly prepared to receive bids in January for attacking midfielder Nicolas Jackson as Everton, Aston Villa and Bournemouth are among the suitors.

According to TEAMtalk [3 January], even Southampton have shown an interest in the 21-year-old who could leave Spain for the United Kingdom this month.

Frank Lampard is desperate to add to his attack in the winter window and Jackson has been a long-term target for the Toffees.

Everton

Worth pursuing?

It’s going to be a tough battle for Everton if they are to secure the services of the in-demand Senegal international who appears Premier League bound.

While he’s only 21, he will arrive at the shores of the United Kingdom with a pretty solid reputation and would be a good signing not just for the present but also for the future.

Talent scout Jacek Kulig billed the winger as the Neymar of his home country, which certainly is a comparison that cannot be taken lightly.

He’s also understood to be in contract squabbles with Villarreal so it seems like even he’ll be happier with a move away from the Yellow Submarine.

However, if the Toffees want to sign him, they will have to be quick and make the offer worth his while as Unai Emery is known to share a good relationship with him during their time in Spain.

As Villa want him too, he could be more inclined towards a move to Villa Park rather than Goodison Park, so it remains to be seen how it transpires.
