Frank Lampard joined by Everton chief executive at Finch Farm as pressure intensifies on future
Frank Lampard is under a lot of pressure at the moment but he still preparing for the FA Cup third-round game against Manchester United on Friday (6 January), as reported by Vinny O’Connor.
The Toffees lost 4-1 against Brighton at Goodison Park on Tuesday (3 January) and many felt that Lampard’s time is as good as over.
The Sky Sports journalist reported that Lampard arrived at the club’s training base at Finch Farm on Wednesday where he was also joined by the club’s chief executive Denise Barrett-Baxendale and finance director Grant Ingles.

There is the “reality” at the club that the results have been poor in recent months after the Toffees picked up just one win in their last 11 games in all competitions.
“Frank Lampard arrived at Everton’s training base Finch Farm on Wednesday morning. He was also joined by the club’s chief executive Denise Barrett-Baxendale and finance director Grant Ingles,” wrote O’Connor for Sky Sports.
“We understand that at the moment, Lampard is still preparing for the FA Cup third-round game against Manchester United on Friday as normal.
“However, there is the reality that Everton’s results have not been good enough over a number of weeks now.
Future hanging in balance?
It is a not good sign for any club to chop and change managers unless you’re Chelsea or Real Madrid, and Everton will keep their patience with Lampard for a while now.
The continuity at the club is important, but at the same time, if the results do not improve, the club should look fresh outlook.
With one win in 11 games in all competitions, the Toffees board should give serious thought about whether they can trust Lampard going forward.

After a decent start in the Premier League, the Toffees have simply forgotten how to pick up three points. They have been really poor away from home all season, but there has been little optimism about their home form in recent months.
There is a lack of creativity in the side, and Everton are struggling for goals at the moment.
The 4-1 defeat against Brighton has put Lampard’s future in doubt. It’s not just about the defeat, but the manner of the defeat leaves adds little hope that Lampard can turn it around.
