Richarlison absence looms large over very different Everton relegation battle
Everton are risking a very different relegation battle to the one they faced last season having never replaced one of their most potent weapons, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The Blues sold Richarlison this summer to Tottenham and never replaced the Brazilian who was pivotal in their escape from relegation doom in the 2021/2022 campaign.
The Liverpool Echo confessed that the Toffees “risk” entering a relegation scrap this season without a talent equal to or above the gun-slinging Brazilian, a transfer blunder which may haunt them.

“Richarlison was sold for the cash needed as a consequence of one of too many bad decisions that currently haunt this historic club,” as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
“At present, this battle is also different because Everton risk going into it without an even more potent weapon than Brazil’s number nine.”

Facts.
The facts of Everton’s current situation couldn’t be clearer, the failure to replace Richarlison with an equally good if not better talent has wreaked havoc on the Blues’ results.
And until Everton replaces the Brazilian, it’s hard to look past them not being embroiled in yet another relegation scrap, one they are staring in the face right now.
January provides the opportunity for the Blues to rectify this poor transfer blunder and Frank Lampard must now stamp his authority on this Everton setup with a big signing.
It’s shocking that the funds gained from the Richarlison deal couldn’t be put towards this, but the horrendous decisions of the past have ultimately cost the club from doing so.
The gaping hole left by the Brazilian star needs to be filled quickly, or the Blues will be taking a knife to a gunfight in which they may not be so lucky this time around.
Lampard’s side have won one of their past 11 games, appalling form, something the former Chelsea boss must answer for alongside the loathed Everton board.
