Jordan Pickford could be tempted to leave Everton to join Tottenham Hotspur

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has emerged as a top target for Tottenham Hotspur who are planning to bring him to the club next summer to replace Hugo Lloris.

According to a report from Sunday People (8 January, page 59), Spurs believe they can tempt the 28-year-old goalkeeper to leave Goodison Park if he doesn’t pen a new deal at the club.

Pickford has 18 months left on his current deal and he could be “vulnerable” to a summer approach from Spurs.

The Toffees have offered him a five-year contract, but he is yet to commit to his future at the club.

Blockbuster move

Pickford has been outstanding for both his club and country in the past two years or so.

He was one of the main reasons why the club managed to escape relegation, and has been on top form yet again.

However, you can’t blame him if he doesn’t want to hang around at Goodison Park forever, considering the Toffees find themselves in a similar situation as it were last season.

There’s hardly any improvement. The club find themselves 18th in the league table at the moment with only 15 points on board.

Everton

The England goalkeeper would love to test himself at a bigger club that can offer him European football, and Spurs could be an option.

Pickford joined Everton from Sunderland five years ago for £25 million, and the Toffees will have a chance to make a profit on him if he leaves in the summer. It will definitely be a blockbuster move, similar to the exit of Richarlison.

Everton will try their best to keep him at the club, but he could be tempted to move elsewhere in the summer.
