Everton future looks bleak for Tom Davies if Frank Lampard remains manager
The Everton future of midfielder Tom Davies looks bleak if Frank Lampard remains in charge at Goodison Park, according to Daily Record journalist Gavin Berry.
Davies has emerged as a transfer target for Rangers this month with Gers head coach Michael Beale jokingly confessing that the maestro used to “kick” his Liverpool U23s side about.
Berry shared that if Lampard remains at the helm for Everton then the “future looks bleak” for Davies who has made just 10 appearances this campaign.

“The midfielder has made just 10 appearances for Everton this season and isn’t first choice under Frank Lampard and that is despite the Chelsea legend’s side really struggling,” said Berry, as quoted by the Daily Record (9 January).
“So, unless there is a change of manager and that has been rumoured, then his Goodison Park future looks bleak.”
Ominous.
It seems like a move away from Goodison Park is slowly but surely becoming a reality for Davies, who is undoubtedly surplus to requirements for Lampard.
After Alex Iwobi was stretchered off at Old Trafford many thought Davies would get a chance to shine, nevertheless, the former Chelsea coach opted for Abdoulaye Doucoure, who impressed during his cameo.

Adding fuel to the fire, Davies’ contract with the Blues is up at the end of this season and the Blues may want to cash in on him now rather than lose him for nothing.
It’s a real shame to see how things have panned out for the midfielder, he displayed great promise in his early years at Everton but things just aren’t clicking at the moment.
With luck, Davies can find a new home where he gets regular minutes, something the maestro will be craving after recent seasons on the sidelines.
This is a transfer story to keep a close eye on and one which will likely develop in the coming weeks.
