Everton decide on Dele Alli loan return as Besiktas seek to terminate agreement
Turkish outfit Besiktas are reportedly unwilling to stick to the terms of their loan agreement with Everton for Dele Alli and wish for him to return back to Goodison Park, according to the Mirror.
The Toffees recruited the former Tottenham Hotspur star on a free transfer from the North London outfit in January 2022, in a deal which could rise up to £40m. However, the 26-year-old barely featured for Frank Lampard before being shipped out on loan to Besiktas last summer.
The 37-time England international has so far struggled to make an impression on his new lease of life in Turkey, having only featured in seven out of 16 Turkish Super Lig games so far this campaign, and scoring just once.

According to the Mirror [10 January, page 10], the Turkish giants wish to terminate the loan agreement with Everton. However, there is no break clause within the deal and the Toffees will most likely want the full payment of the loan fee – thought to be around £1m – as well as the agreed contribution toward’s Alli’s wages.
The report goes on to state that the Toffees have no interest in bringing the midfielder back to Goodison Park.
Future looking bleak
It’s no secret that Alli has had a torrid spell over the past few years both as a Spurs player and at Goodison, and that has further been compounded by his failed loan spell at Besiktas.
And it seems as though the Turkish outfit will have to stick with him for the remainder of the loan, which spells bad news for both the player and the club.

As a result, Alli’s future at the top level is looking incredibly bleak. The 26-year-old’s move to Turkey was supposed to be a new lease of life for him, a chance to rediscover his best self and form, but for some unfortunate reason that hasn’t happened.
Whether that’s down to the player himself or the Turkish club is another matter entirely.
But, it’s a further representation of the huge failures that the Toffees have been wrapped up in with player recruitment. They should never have signed Alli in the first place, considering his lack of application and hard work during his latter years in North London.
What’s worse is that the club could be getting back a player in a worse position than when he left on loan back in August. How Everton will look to move him on once he returns is certainly unclear and unlikely which is another form of bad news and disappointment for the Toffees faithful.
