Everton in talks to sign Villarreal attacker Arnaut Danjuma

Everton are reportedly in talks to secure the services of Villarreal attacker Arnaut Danjuma in the January transfer window.

According to Cadena Ser journalist Bruno Alemany, the Toffees want a loan deal and an option to buy at the end of the season.

The Dutch attacker has been on the club’s radar for two years now and appeared a realistic target in the summer of 2021.

Via Twitter, Alemany wrote, “Important Everton interest in Arnaut Danjuma. Ongoing negotiation. Loan with purchase option at the end of the season on the Villarreal table.”

Good move?

The Toffees desperately need some attacking reinforcements this month and Danjuma is a tried and tested option and one that should work at Goodison Park.

He’s capable of playing out wide and down the middle and most importantly, will offer to be an immense goal threat – something Frank Lampard is craving for.

Everton started the season with Dominic Calvert-Lewin being their most potent option in front of goal, but his injury record has been woeful.

He’s been absent for so many games and most in which he’s played, he’s not looked the part and that’s not what Lampard would have wanted.

In Danjuma, he will get a player who can shoulder the goal threat of the England international and also be a creative force out wide.

Anthony Gordon took can benefit by having a similar player in the side and the two can even interchange positions midway during games.
