Everton won't be obligated to sign Arnaut Danjuma if loan move goes through

Everton will not have to buy Arnaut Danjuma outright if he seals a January loan move to Goodison Park from Villareal, according to El Periodico Mediterraneo.

The Dutch winger is high on the list of potential January transfer targets for the Toffees and they have even begun tentative talks with the La Liga side over an agreement.

The 25-year-old has not been a regular for the Spanish outfit ever since Quique Setien took charge following Unai Emery’s move to Aston Villa and they now want to offload him.

Everton only want to sign him on loan as they do not have the money necessary to go out and sign him permanently at this stage and they won’t have an obligation to do so in the summer either.

The deal is likely to suit all parties as Danjuma wants to play regular football and Villareal are keen to get him off their wage bill as he is not a key figure anymore.

This is the kind of low-risk move that Everton have to start making more often in the transfer market to start righting the wrongs of the many mistakes of the past.

If Danjuma does not become a hit at Goodison Park then the Toffees can simply wave goodbye at the end of his loan spell with little money spent or commitments made.

Given how he was Bournemouth’s star player before leaving to join Villareal, you can only assume that he will thrive being back in the Premier League after a couple of years as a Champions League goal-scorer in Spain.

Frank Lampard needs some new impetus on the wings with Anthony Gordon and Dwight McNeil not cutting it right now, even if Demarai Gray is in some kind of form right now.

His speed and direct running is sure to cause problems for opposition defenders and finally give Everton some potency on the counter-attack.
