Everton told to sign Arnaut Danjuma quickly by Fabrizio Romano in new transfer update
Everton are interested in a move to sign Villarreal’s Dutch international forward Arnaut Danjuma, and journalist Fabrizio Romano has urged the Toffees to “act fast” if they want to bring him to Goodison Park this month.
Daily Mail [10 January] revealed the Toffees had made contact with Villarreal to sign the Dutch international on a loan deal, with the club reportedly seeking a purchase option to be activated at the end of the season, due to the club’s financial restrictions.
However, the Blues aren’t the only ones interested in a move for the 22-goal Yellow Submarine winger, Sky Sports [10 January] revealed that fellow Premier League club Nottingham Forest had joined the hunt for the talented forward this month.

And speaking on his CaughtOffside column [12 January], Romano has revealed that Danjuma is keen on a return to the Premier League, with Everton interested in bringing him to Goodison Park. But the Toffees must move quickly to secure his signature, with other top-flight outfits interested.
He said: “If Danjuma becomes available, you’d expect multiple clubs to enter the race, so Everton may need to act fast.”
Must convince
Considering Everton’s lowly position in the Premier League table, and the current uncertain plight and atmosphere at Goodison Park so far this campaign, the Toffees must convince the talented 25-year-old that they are the right club for Danjuma to continue his stark development.
Many may consider a move from Villarreal, flying high in sixth place in La Liga right down to a relegation battle with Everton to be a drop-down both in quality and club standing and according to both club’s respective positions, that could not be any further from the truth.

It is uncertain whether the Dutch international star will be willing to make such a move, especially considering his tremendous exploits on the European stage for Villarreal since his move from AFC Bournemouth in August 2021.
He bagged six Champions League goals in 11 outings last season on the club’s famous run to semis, with which the forward proved that performing in Europe’s most iconic club competition was the ideal platform for him to perform.
Everton simply can’t offer him that in their immediate future, which makes a move for the 25-year-old looking rather bleak.
If the Toffees are desperate for Danjuma’s services this month, they do indeed need to act fast as urged by Romano, and he’d certainly take a lot of convincing to join them in their quest to avoid relegation.
