Everton open to offers as Leeds United consider Mason Holgate transfer
Everton are “open to offers” for a number of players in the January transfer window, and one of them could be Mason Holgate, according to Echo journalist Joe Thomas.
Reporting for the Liverpool Echo (14 January), Thomas insisted that Holgate is “under the consideration” of clubs like Leeds United and Nottingham Forest.
While Frank Lampard didn’t disclose who the club would listen to offers for, it is clear that the Toffees are considering moves for several players.

Tom Davies and Michael Keane could leave the club in the January window, while Holgate’s potential exit cannot be completely ruled out.
Mistake
It is nearly halfway through the January transfer window and the Toffees are yet to sign a player.
The club are struggling in the relegation zone and Lampard needs to add depth and quality to his side to boost the club’s survival chance.
At the same time, with money not available in plenty, the club are looking to offload some of their players, but it seems there’s hardly any movement at the moment – both incoming or outgoing.

Holgate is a senior member of the side who has made 145 appearances for the club. He has dropped down the pecking order behind James Tarkowski, Conor Coady and Ben Godfrey this season, and has made only three starts in the Premier League.
It seems obvious that Michael Keane doesn’t feature in Lampard’s plans, while Yerry Mina should be offloaded given his lack of participation through injuries. In that case, Holgate should stay at the club, in case there’s an injury crisis.
But Lampard may have other plans. Leeds have signed Max Wober from Red Bull Salzburg this month, and probably they won’t look to sign another central defender.
So, chances are high that Nottingham could be genuinely interested in him, although one struggles to find any thought process behind their player recruitment policy.
