Everton shareholder confirms he wants Wayne Rooney return as manager at Goodison Park
Everton shareholder Mike Parry shared on Twitter that the Toffees have been “drained of Evertonianism” and the club must do something “revolutionary” in bringing back former player Wayne Rooney to become their new manager.
The Blues are currently undergoing another season of disappointment and frustration, again languishing in the relegation zone after just one win from their last 13, with fans making their voices and anger heard once more following the disappointing defeat to Southampton at Goodison Park.
There was enough concern amongst the club for the security and safety of their board members that they were told to stay away from the ground [14 January] well before kick-off.
Manager Frank Lampard has unfortunately been the victim of the club’s demise with many calling for his head, due to the club’s poor form and performances on the pitch. The former Chelsea boss and player has won just 12 of his 43 games in charge since his appointment in January last year.
And club shareholder Parry took to Twitter to offer his thoughts on what the club must do to get them out of trouble, and that is to appoint Rooney as manager.
He tweeted: “We’ve got to do something soon and it’s got to be drastic .. Our mighty club has been drained of Evertonianism .. Let’s do something revolutionary to bring it back… Where art thou @WayneRooney when your club needeth you.”
No difference
Parry’s thoughts and opinions that Rooney should become the new manager at the club seem incredibly lofty and ambitious. To be honest, the Manchester United legend replacing Lampard simply won’t make any difference whatsoever.
The Toffees are in a state where any manager who comes in, will have a huge struggle adjusting to the dreadful environment, aura and the failures of the people working above them.

Not even Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola could work their magic at this club. Everton are in a dire strait right now, a complete mess, and changing Lampard won’t improve any of their fortunes, as evidenced by their six managers over the past seven years.
What needs to change, is the people above the former Chelsea legend. Farhad Moshiri is currently showing that he is not an owner to be trusted, one who simply doesn’t know how to run a football club. The club board aren’t helping matters also.
However, the news that the club is fearing for their safety is incredibly concerning and worrying, and nobody should have their lives threatened as a result of what’s going on. It is unacceptable.
How the club moves forward from here is terribly unclear.
