Fabrizio Romano issues Everton transfer update amid interest in Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana

Everton are reportedly eyeing a January transfer move for Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana as Frank Lampard is keen on attacking reinforcements.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the 20-year-old Ghana international is open to leaving the Ligue 1 club in the January transfer window.

Everton are exploring the option of signing him on loan with an option to buy, but are rivalled in their pursuit by Augsburg and Bournemouth.

Via Twitter, Romano wrote, “Kamaldeen Sulemana is open to leaving Rennes in January. Everton are exploring loan with buy clause deal. Augsburg and Bournemouth have also asked for Sulemana as he could leave due to lack of game time.”

Not good enough?

If a striker is not good enough to play for Rennes, we’re wondering how and why he will be deemed good enough for the Toffees.

The club aren’t in a position where they can invest in potential and sign young players on the cheap as they’ve got bigger problems to deal with.

They’re currently fighting a relegation battle and need proven goal scorers to bail them out of this mess, not hope and pray that a Rennes understudy will be the difference maker.

Everton

This shambolic recruitment needs to end and it needs to end in this window when the team faces a very serious threat of relegation.

Hopefully, someone on the Everton board has better targets in mind that they can recommend as what’s happening now is nowhere near good enough.

Anthony Elanga also appears to be one of the main targets and it’s baffling how anyone things that such players will be upgrades on the first eleven.
